MOVING FORWARD

We anticipate that a new emphasis on "disease control" will become standard practice in all industries.


Beyond our "TOUCHLESS" check in and check out processes, we are adopting processes to limit traffic in our facility at any given time.  For example, we have clients wait in their cars and text them when their treatment room is ready.  We will also stagger appointment start times.


We continue to seek ways to promote a "touchless process" such as Health Intake Forms, Waiver and online payment.  We are also working on our new app that will allow you to select upgrades on the spot, will automatically check you in, and will enable you to pay and handle gratuities.


We know that the world will change in many ways in the near future, but one thing that we are certain of is that we will be there for you with the cleanest and safest facility.  Our commitment remains for you to restore, relax, and refresh when you need it most.  Thank you for your trust, we look forward to seeing you soon.

Safety Is Our Business

FACILITY CLEANLINESS

Kapolei Massage Institute has always been committed to providing a clean and safe environment for you to relax.  During the COVID-19 crisis, we reinforced those steps and added additional measures recommended by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and WHO (World Health Organization).  Cleanliness will continue to be our focus in moving forward.


Among the steps we are taking, Kapolei Massage Institute will require:


  • Thoroughly wiping down all treatment rooms, tools, and classrooms with approved EPA-registered disinfectants between each appointment.  Bathroom and common areas will be cleaned and disinfected at a minimum of every hour.
  • All Massage Therapists are required to wear gloves during services upon client request.
  • All staff members to pass a Sanitation and Illness Prevention Course and performing a practical assessment to ensure they follow the strict guidelines we enforce, including proper hand washing.
  • Pre-service staff health checks including temperature check
  • Mandatory face covers for all staff
  • All linens are single service use
  • A contact-lite transaction process including digital forms


DISINFECTANT

After extensive research with an advisory team consisting of biochemists, scientists, and attorneys, we have upgraded and implemented Dutrion CLO2 to sanitize and disinfect our facility on all hard surfaces as well as the air treatment throughout the facility and specifically in each treatment room.  Dutrion is registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency, NSF International (NSF-60) and Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI) as a disinfectant, sanitizer, fungistatic, mildewstat, biocide, deodorizer, slimicide, algaestat, and descaler.  It has the ability to destroy or eliminate all forms of microbial life including fungi, viruses and all forms of bacteria and their spores.  To date, no organism has proven to be resistant to CLO2.


HAND SANITIZER

Hand sanitizer will be available upon entry and in every treatment room for use by both our clients and massage therapists. Our sanitizers contain 70% alcohol which has a 10 second effect in eliminating or destroying all forms of microbial life but does not take the place of hand-washing.  Hand-washing will be encouraged in our facility.


SANITATION PROTOCOLS:  TREATMENT ROOMS, LINEN, TOWELS AND PALE WAHA (FACE COVER)

We change sheets and face covers after each client and wash at high temperatures with a bleach-based product to minimize the transmission risk, as is recommended by various public health authorities.  Our custom designed PALE WAHA (face cover) offer a four-barrier protection made up of two-layers of cotton fabric and two layers of garment-industry quality interfacing material adding a quadruple line of protection.  We will discontinue the use of non-cotton blankets and instead use double sheets so that all linens will be changed after each service and washed.


We will also employ an aggressive cleaning schedule for the entire facility.  All treatment rooms will be thoroughly wiped down with a hot hand towel or washcloth with one of the two approved hospital grade disinfectants used at Kapolei Massage Institute.  It is well known that the COVID-19 virus cannot survive temperatures greater than 115 degrees Fahrenheit.  While we wash all towels after each use, we also prep these clean towels pre-use in towel cabbies that heat the towels to 150-160 degrees Fahrenheit.


We are considering installing ozone or other medical grade air filtration systems.  We are evaluating these systems for use at Kapolei Massage Institute.

NEW HEALTH AND SAFETY STANDARDS

As we prepare to re-open our institute, we have taken customer safety and facility cleanliness to a new level.  Kapolei Massage Institute is committed to taking a leadership position in instituting and enhancing processes and protocols to ensure the health and safety of our clients, students and staff.  We have consulted with experts in the healthcare, infectious disease and massage therapy to ensure we are taking the right measures to ensure safety without sacrificing your relaxation or our staff's well-being.


This much is certain, offering massage services and education to our clients and students will be more critical now than at any other time in our history.  COVID-19 isolation and uncertainty have impacted the collective mental health and widespread depression is a genuine global concern.  Know that massage therapy can help relieve tension in your muscles and connective tissues, increase blood flow and promote relaxation.  What you may not have known, however, is that massage therapy has been found to help relieve the physical symptoms associated with depression and anxiety such as headache, insomnia and widespread muscle pain.
